FAQs

What is the difference between a psych NP and psychiatrist?

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners provide many of the same services that psychiatrists do including assessing, diagnosing, prescribing medication, and psychotherapy. PMHNP education and training is built on a foundation of advanced practice nursing and holistic health with a specific focus on mental health across the lifespan.

Will you be seeing anyone in person?

I am available for telehealth services only. I am not planning to offer in-person appointments at this time.

I utilize a HIPPA compliant platform to ensure privacy and confidentiality. Please ensure you have an adequate internet connection and are able to connect in a private space for the duration of your appointment.

Is what we discuss confidential?

Information shared in your appointments is part of your medical record and protected by HIPPA. However, I am legally required to report if I suspect you are at risk of harming yourself or others, any suspected child or elder abuse, or if ordered by a court of law. Information may also be shared for insurance purposes and coordination of care with your other healthcare providers.
